The Beauty of Red Oak in Art Design

Surprisingly American Red Oak comprises around 20% of all hardwood volume in the U.S. it also has more trees than any other type of trees in the U.S. Red Oak is growing exponentially, which makes Red Oak always a good option for hardwood floors. Not just its growth that makes it a good option, but Red oak is a favorite among many art designers.

During 2019’s London Design Festival, Red Oak was frequently showcased. One of the objects was this art design called The Nest, designed by Juliet Quintero, it features thermally modified planks of Red Oak.

The increase in designers using Red Oak as its base material will definitely affect many people’s decisions into using Red Oak as their choice of flooring, it is easily decorated and it’s complex as it is simple. Artistic director at the Serpentine Galleries, Nina Tolstrup had to say this about Red Oak, “The Red Oak tree has the most amazing vivid red leaves, and the wood is a lovely material to work with,”

Red Oak is a step towards greener materials, not only that it’s environmentally friendly, it’s also great in its overall feel and provides a great natural look. It’s good to educate more people about greener materials as we move forward to a greener future.
